HOUSTON,
Tex. -- Cushcity.com, the worlds largest selection of African-American products on
the Internet, was honored today as an Internet innovator. The award, for Influence and
Innovation in the Internet and Technology, was presented during the second MOBE
Information Technology Symposium in Los Angeles and was accepted by Cushcity.com
co-founder Gwen Daye Richardson. "We are pleased that our innovation in the area of e-commerce has been recognized," said Willie A. Richardson, president of Cushcity.com, Inc., a Houston-based privately held corporation. "Cushcity.com is committed to bringing African-American consumers, decision makers and others interested in ethnic products the highest quality goods in the marketplace, as well as excellent customer service. We appreciate MOBE for the work it is doing in the fields of technology and entertainment." Cushcity.com was launched in December 1998 and initially sold African-American books and videos. It has since expanded its product lines to include toys, games, dolls, software, calendars, greeting cards, stationery items, clothing, collectibles and Black Greek products. Additional product lines are slated for this summer and fall. MOBE, which is an acronym for Marketing Opportunities in Black Entertainment, is the premiere advanced marketing and technology series for serious marketers, entertainment executives, promoters, producers and technologists. Last years MOBE awardees have included Dwayne Walker, CEO of ShopNow.com; Darien Dash, DME Interactive Holdings; F.
