HOUSTON,
Tex. -- Cushcity.com, the most highly
trafficked African-American e-commerce site in cyberspace, has joined with the Houston
Technology Center to host a one-day conference called "E-Commerce At A Profit"
on Sept. 14, 2001 at The Power Center in Houston, Tex. The event will focus on the nuts
and bolts of building and running a successful e-commerce enterprise. A Houston-based firm, Cushcity.com touts the worlds largest selection of African-American products on the Internet. The Houston Technology Center is the premiere clearinghouse for technology information in Houston and a local catalyst for accelerated growth among emerging technology companies. The conference features keynote speakers Bob Beauchamp, CEO of BMC Software; George Fraser, motivational speaker and author of Success Runs in Our Race; and Gwen Richardson, Co-founder of Cushcity.com. The conference brings together founders of some of the most successful e-commerce companies, both locally and nationally, as well as others in related industries. David F. Gow, CEO of Ashford.com; Russell Caper, CEO of eRealty.com; and Jon Nordmark, co-founder of Ebags.com will all serve as presenters at the conference. Other conference participants include Dennis Murphree, President of Murphree Venture Partners; Bernard Beale, COO of Cynet, Inc.; Lloyd Bentsen III, Chairman of Triad Ventures; and Steve Currall of the Rice University Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship. "Until now, selling online has been somewhat of a mystery for many entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners," said Willie A. Richardson, President and CEO of Cushcity.com. "This conference will provide the necessary information for etailers to be successful." This is the first of a series of five similar conferences hosted by Cushcity.com.
